free accomodation around the world

I was just wondering if anyone here has used globalfreeloaders, hospitalityclub or places to stay? I have just joined up and it sounds great as i am doing an around the world trip on a tight budget, but i am a bit hesitant about it.
Any stories good or bad?
Thanks

I have used Globalfreeloaders as both a host and a guest. It is a great idea and I have had excellent experiences. I will be in Eastern Europe in a couple of months and plan to use gobalfreeloaders extensively to save $$.

have fun

Hi there.
I am on my rtw trip and already now (after 2 month), my money keeps somehow disappearing. So I really need to find a way to cut down my spendings.
What is the whole globalfreeloders thing??????

It is the greatest website in the world. I've hosted people and used it in 3 countries so far. I can't recommend it enough. But please remember.... globalfreeloaders doesn't work if you aren't willing to host people yourself. I met a few people who couldn't grasp this. The idea of staying for free in other countries appealed to them but not foreigners staying with them....!!! God forbid!

Don't think about it. Just do it.

I think globalfreeloaders is a great idea and will probably do it myself sooner or later. The only drawback I could think of is if you're the kind of traveler who likes to stay in one place and linger for a while (pretty common here I think). I wouldn't feel comfortable staying in someone's home more than 2 or 3 days at the most.

More about me and the places I've been

Take the time to talk to people who can't possibly offer you anything and you'll be amazed at how much you gain.

I'm a globalfreeloaders host and have had positive experiences with it, met some fun people. Will probably use it as a traveler next time I take off. But yes, don't wear out your welcome trying to stay more than two or three nights. A guesthouse is much better for the long term. And in cheap countries where a local hotel room is four or five bucks, staying with a host is more of a cultural and learning experience than a money saver.
