So as you might have read or heard, my friend Melanie's apartment burned down the night before I arrived. I was going to stay with her, but as you can see by the pictures, her apartment was uninhabitable. Her firend Kizzy was kind enough to put me up for a night and the next day we all set about clearing out the apartment for demolition and reconstruction. Some (about half) of the furnature was saved and stored but Kat's room was completely destroyed, and Mel's stuff was pretty water-logged and smelly. Emilie's room survived and I think she kept most of her stuff.

Though I would usually party, and have some great times in NYC, this time I was rather busy helping cleanup. I have no way of commenting on individual pictures here, so take a look at the pictures and then read the New York Journal entry.
