Lhatse, Tibet
October 2, 2004 - October 3, 2004

Lhatse was a small town we passed through on our way to Everest from Shigatse.  We arrived on our
4th day out of Lhasa, and had plenty of time left in the day to go hang out and play some outdoor pool.

At the hotel that night an old Tibetan started a song, and everyone joined in

This was our hotel.  Not bad for just 1 night.

Local hospital

Some friendly guy wanted to share this with me for some reason. Maybe he thought I'd get scared?

Locals kids. Many girls were camera shy.

It's funny; looking at this kid you might think it's a Gameboy in his
hand just because of our cultural experiences. Of course it's not...

I think these red hats are school uniforms. Many kids wee getting out of
school at that time, and riding past us on WAY oversized bikes. These kids
came by to watch the strange foreigners.

Playing pool with a mop???
That girl was NOT robbing me. She was a cute, and harmless street girl
waiting patiently for us to finish our beers so she could ask for the bottles.
She thought we were strange and funny, so playing with a mop only made
her for curious and friendly.

She and her brother were keeping an eagle eye out for beer levels.
