Chur, Switzerland
May 10, 2004 - May 11, 2004

Pronounced KOO-er. Just try to find this in your guide book. I didn't think so. It's not a tourist town at all, and at first I thought I saw why. The first area you come through is new, and developed (in a small town sized way), and teaming with kids, and people. Lots of construction too. There aren't any hostels in this town, so I had to settle for a budget hotel situation. I say situation because it wasn't a budget hotel - it was a nice hotel. But I got the budget situation (i.e. the attic). It was funny really. The woman was evidently a little embarrassed to show me through the half-height door into the messy painters workshop of an attic. The beds I was supposed to sleep on weren't there for me, but rather just there for storage; I was supposed to unwrap one and use it. Haha! I was getting sick with a Flu I came down with the next day, so I stayed in. Wish I'd gone out 'cause it's a university town, but it was bound to be a laundry night. The next day I got up too late and missed my train, so I had time to wander. I found the old part of town, and you can see it has potential as a cute little old village - maybe the tourists will start coming now?

Hahaha... this is my budget situation...
