Lisbon has been given so much praise that I hardly expect it could have lived up to expectations. I'm sorry, but to me, this was just a city. If I were traveling differently, and could afford to go out to the clubs, this would have been a very different experience. But as it was, the only highlight was the old section on the way to the castle. I wish I could say different. Maybe next time I'll love it!
 
    I stayed right in Praca da Figueira which is the big square right down among all the shopping, and close to everything.  It was convenient, so I walked everywhere but up the river to the Jeronimos Monastery.  I survived off of olives, bread, and white port.  That was great until I got a canker sore from the sugary port...

TV room was pretty useless.  Workers were always watching football.
