Zakopane, Poland
May 2, 2004 - May 3, 2004
Zakopane is the Aspen of Poland. It's a beautiful ski village
on the border with Czech in the
Tatras mountains. It was very wealthy and clean. They have put their bid in
for the next winter
Olympics. I think it would be really cool if they got it. Especially
as a new EU member. It would
change Poland a lot I think.
It's mostly a place for winter sports or summer hiking.
I met up with some guys I met in Krakow, and
they had done some hiking. I was only there for the night and didn't have
time the next day to do anything other
than explore town. But I'd come back for the sports and hiking.
It was very nice.
This was the place we stayed. It is an empty hotel like out of the "Shining",
but they had dorms, so it was cheap.
Oooo... where are the axe-murdered twins?

The peoples market
What are these you might ask? I saw them all over Poland, and
thought it was a pastry of some kind until I bought some. Can you guess?
Cheese!!! Very greasy cheese.
