Gdansk, Poland
June 9, 2004 - June 10, 2004
The only things I knew about Gdansk was that many people said
it's the worst place for train
robberies, and that the revolutionaries that began the breakdown of the Soviet
Union were from there.
I thought I had heard it was a dirty shipping city, but whoever said that was
way off. This was an
incredibly cute town that reminded me a lot of a small Kopenhavn. I stayed here
for 2 days.
The so-so hostel I stayed in just outside of town
Walking into town. Everything about the architecture is Scandinavian.
Not Polish at all.
Around town
Gdansk is on the ocean, so there are a lot of sailors coming through
I'd guess this was Holland, not Poland!
Gdansk suffered during the war, like any sea-side city. Some buildings
have yet to be repaired.
An impressive fleet of yachts for any port in Poland
