Vilnius, Lithuania
June 13, 2004 - June 14, 2004

After 1 month in Poland I was out of time for the Baltic's, so I only made it to Vilnius, the capital.
I only spent 3 days and 2 nights there, but all-in-all, I'd say there are more exciting cities in
the Baltic's.  They have an old town which is alright, but the feeling just wasn't there for me.  In
my 3 days, I saw the KGB museum (which every previous Soviet state probably has), the city
hall which still has the barricades up from the revolt against the Soviets, the old town, and the
farmers market.  I found the farmers market the most interesting, but that's not to say it was
anything too special.

I had a lengthy conversation with a local girl who seemed to think the youth of Lithuania want out.
Maybe there's a reason...

The countryside on the way there was really nice

Farmers Market
I went with an English bloke I met at the hostel, but neither of us could find much of anything to eat...
He settled for honey, if that's indeed what it was, and I settled for pickles.

I think this was my favorite part of the market.  This was actually outside the fence, and I
think it was the "unofficial" market.  It consisted of weathered men selling broken junk
that I imagine has never sold... No idea how they make any money.

After realizing we weren't going to satisfy our hunger at the market we went to a dive restaurant.

The only statue of Frank Zappa in the world!!!  Hahaha.  No, seriously.
