Lucca, Italy
April 30, 2004 - May 2, 2004

It was raining when we had planned to go to Cinque Terra, and as my dad had experienced earlier, Cinque Terra is not a place you want to be in the rain. So a quick plan had been devised to go to Lucca instead. Lucca was touted as having the oldest completely intact walled town in Italy. Well, it sure was intact! It looked like it had been impeccably maintained through all the centuries and wars. The town was nice too, but the rain detracted a bit from my appreciation. In the end, we had to split early due to rain. We figured driving through rain is less depressing than walking around in it like two wet cats.
