Heidelberg, Germany
May 14, 2004 - May 15, 2004

Cute little university town situated on banks of a river. I stopped here for the night and following day. The guidebooks were mixed on this town, as it is way too touristy during the day. I was glad to have arrived at night on a weekend though, so the streets were filled, but with university students instead of tourists. The next day I felt the tourist crush, and it's not a pretty site.

The ICE is the BEST train ever!!!

This was the hostel I stayed in just outside of town at the university

Around Heidelberg

Views of town form the Schloss (Castle) on the hillside

And this is the Schloss

Hey!  Did you know the Bunsen burner was invented in Heidelberg?  This is a museum on pharmacists.

Old Aspirin

Now this is one HUGE wine barrel! This is for real.

And this is what the tourist crush looks like.  Just not very enjoyable by mid-day.
